Korea Sexual Violence Relief Centre

The KSVRC provides shelter and support to a small number of children, teenagers and young adults who have suffered sexual abuse. The Centre also provides phone couselling, dealing with around 2000 cases a year.

In addition, as one of only a few such centres in Korea, KSVRC is recognised as expert in the field and is required to provide training to under-graduate social workers.

The Centre receives a limited amount of government funding equal to about 10% of its total operating costs, the balance needing to be raised from donors such as BASS.

In 2011, BASS provided a projector for counseling and training sessions and also air-conditioning units for the basement study room used by the girls living at the centre.

No photos are available of this project, in order to protect the identity of the residents.
