Johan's Home is a small foster home in Yeonhui dong, Seoul. It has been running for many years. Currently Young-Sook Kim, her father and her sister are taking care of 7 teenage children. A few university students visit in the evening to assist with tuition. The primary carers do not receive a salary but each child is paid a benefit which is used to cover daily expenses. In addition, the government makes a contribution towards heating costs.

The children come from broken homes but remain in contact with their parents and spend the major school holidays with them. During term-time the children stay at the Home, which has so far been very successful in providing a secure, stable and loving environment allowing several children to graduate from High School.

In 2011, Johan's Home asked us to help with badly needed re-decoration to both the interior and exterior of the home, but we were unable to help. In 2012, we are very pleased to have been able to donate KRW 4.6 million to complete all the necessary works.
